Business department is the winner of this year’s Bazuu Cup after defeating Engineers in a 2-1 thrilling match played at the Nakuru Athletics Club on Friday June 16.
Engineers have been the champions of the coveted cup but were left salivating the second time in a row.
Last year, Engineers made it to the finals but were humiliated by Mass Media department, which had entered the competition as underdogs.
This year, it is the Business players that ended up teaching Engineers Football 101 – that it doesn’t matter how fit your are, the juice is in scoring a goal!

During the Friday competition, Mass Media, despite being the defending champions, did not even make it to the semis. They were kicked out at the group level after suffering a 2-0 loss at the hands of the Business department.
In other group games, Hospitality vs ICT ended 1-2 in favor of the latter. Health left the field limping after a humiliating defeat of 2-0 by Engineers.
Hospitality and ICT fell at the semis leaving Business and Engineers to square it out at the finals.

For ladies, Mass Media and Fashion made it to the finals after kicking out Hospitality and Cosmetology respectively – Media emerged winners.
The winning teams went home with a trophy and mbuzi!
It is time now Emmanuel Bett, the coach of the Engineers, goes back to the drawing board and find out why his boys are losing the ball despite being seen as the ‘School Team’.
