But Molly was not born this good at using her hands to serve happiness to clients, she got herself a place where she turned passion into a flourishing career.
Born and raised in Nyahururu as an only child of her parents, she discovered her passion for beauty during her teen years. As her friends were busy playing the games for kids, she was busy making her dolls look pretty.
“My mum, who is my close friend, was very supportive when I chose to study Cosmetology. They knew I was passionate about it and they were all for it,” she said.
Molly, who graduated from high school 2020, says her two years at the School of Cosmetology in Rift Valley Institute of Business Studies College (RVIBS) put her on a fast track to becoming the professional she is.
As she grew up in Nyahururu, stepping into Nakuru’s Merica Hotel was only a dream. Today, she serves clients at the high-end joint as a masseuse.
“She is professional, fast, reliable and disciplined,” her supervisor at Merica Hotel said.
Molly says young people should be open to pursuing what they love as long as they stay focused and put in the extra effort.
“I would like to sincerely thank my instructors at school for instilling the confidence and the professional acumen I needed to excel in the beauty industry. To anyone who may be interested in cosmetology, give it a chance. It will surprise you,’’ she said.
