RVIBS’ Media Students Shine In Journalism Contest

Students from RVIBS’ School of Media showed their prowess during a journalism contest organized by TV47 in Nakuru.

The contest brought together media colleges in Nakuru to compete in three categories; Reporting, News reading and talent show.

Students from the various colleges were involved in Reporting incidents as well as news reading.

It is during the exercise that Job Sereti and Kelvin Maroko emerged as the best TV reporter and news reader respectively.

Sereti and Maroko are among media students at RVIBS School of Journalism where they are pursuing Diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

“Aliyeibuka bora katika kitengo cha utangazaji wa ripota nyanjani si mwingine il ani huyu bingwa Job Sereti kutoka chuo cha RVIBS,” Journalist Yusuf Wambugu, who was one of the judges during the contest, announced.

Maroko beat his competitors after performing well in news reading and ambush questions category.

The two cited RVIBS’ practical training as one of the building blocks to their good reporting skills
