It was all about fun, dance, and cultural exchange when students from Madison College, USA, visited RVIBS TVET College in Nakuru on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

The Madison crew touched down at the Nakuru City-based TVET institution around 11 a.m., soaking in the fresh Kenyan vibes right away.

Led by Stephanie Belmas, the Director of International Education, they were warmly welcomed by RVIBS Principal Percy Kihumba, who introduced them to a vibrant group of staff and students eager for an interactive session.

For many of the U.S. students, this was their first taste of Africa, and what better place to experience it than in the heart of Kenya’s technical education scene? The visit quickly turned into a lively cultural exchange, with students from both sides diving into each other’s worlds.

The highlight? Learning and grooving to Kenyan hits like “Anguka Nayo,” with RVIBS students teaching their Madison counterparts some killer dance moves. The DJing session added another layer of fun, with beats blending cultures seamlessly.

This wasn’t just a one-off event. The students had previously collaborated on a journalism project virtually, so meeting face-to-face was the perfect opportunity to deepen those connections.

RVIBS and Madison College share a strong partnership, with exchange programs allowing students from both institutions to experience each other’s educational environments. This visit was a testament to the power of such exchanges—bringing the world closer, one dance move at a time.
