RVIBS TVET College has secured a KSh 10M grant aimed at empowering women and youth with advanced tech and entrepreneurial skills.
Funded by the World Bank through the Ministry of Trade and Investment’s KIEP-SKIES project, this initiative seeks to enhance innovation and productivity.
The grant will facilitate the training of 90 participants in high-demand areas such as cybersecurity, digital marketing, graphic design, web design, robotics, and the Internet of Things.

RVIBS Director John Gitau emphasized the transformative impact of this project.
“We are ready to turn young people and women into tech-savvy entrepreneurs. Our new innovation hub will ensure they receive top-tier skills” Gitau said during the unveiling of intermediaries on Friday May 24, 2024.
This project not only aims to elevate individual lives but also contribute significantly to the local innovation ecosystem by building the capacity of incubators and accelerators.
According to RVIBS Head of Technology & Business Development Patrick Mwai, the retooling of the 90 beneficiaries will be implemented through RVIBS’ ICT department’s Africa Tech Space (ATS) innovation hub.
“We have had a dream of impacting women and youth in the society. This is a perfect opportunity and we are calling aspiring tech entrepreneurs to apply and get state of the art tech training,” Mwai said.
